Device Groups
1. Overview
The Device Groups page displays aggregated monitoring data for multiple devices. It shows KPI measurement values across a group of devices with configurable aggregation settings.
2. Filters
-
Group — Select a device group (see Group Filtering)
-
Manufacturer — Filter by device manufacturer
-
Model name — Filter by device model (filtered by selected manufacturer)
2.1. Data Selection
The following four drop-downs define data to be displayed on the graph and the aggregation method:
-
KPI (required) — Select one or more KPIs (Ctrl + click for multiple selection)
-
Interval — Checkpoint interval affecting graph resolution (default: 5 minutes). Becomes active upon a KPI selection.
-
Severity — Alarm threshold severity. Only checkpoints that correspond to the selected alarm severity are used for graph or table building. Becomes active upon a KPI selection.
-
Date — Time range for displayed data. Becomes active upon a KPI selection.
After at least all mandatory input is done, measurement results can be viewed in Table view or Build graph form using the corresponding button.
|
If any Manufacturer or Model name is selected, only KPIs relevant to the selected manufacturer or model will be available in the KPI drop-down. |
2.2. Predefined KPIs
The KPI drop-down also includes seven predefined KPIs:
-
Reboot (by events) — Displays all reboots as events
-
Reboot (by tasks) — Displays all reboots as tasks
-
FactoryReset (by events) — Displays all factory resets as events
-
FactoryReset (by tasks) — Displays all factory resets as tasks
-
IPPingDiagnostic — Displays all IP ping diagnostics results
-
DownloadDiagnostic — Displays all download diagnostics results
-
UploadDiagnostic — Displays all upload diagnostics results
3. Table View
Displays a list of KPI values received from all relevant devices for the selected time interval. The value displayed for every device is an average of all KPIs reported by that device during the requested time interval. The time of the interval’s start is displayed in the Created column.
Additional filters can be applied to the displayed data (Manufacturer, Model Name, Date, Severity, and Group).
The list can be exported to CSV.
4. Graph View
Click Build graph to display a graphical representation of monitoring data for all relevant devices. Each graph checkpoint for each parameter (if more than one) consists of three values:
-
MIN — One minimum value among all relevant monitoring checkpoints of all relevant devices within the defined time interval
-
AVG — An average value, calculated from all relevant monitoring checkpoints of all relevant devices within the defined time interval
-
MAX — One maximum value among all relevant monitoring checkpoints of all relevant devices within the defined time interval
Graphs display alarm thresholds if configured for the selected KPI. The graph turns the corresponding color when a threshold is reached (e.g., yellow when a major alarm is triggered).
|
Checkpoints on the graph for 5-minute interval might correspond not to the selected interval but to each device checkpoint, due to system limitation. Also, the graph might consist of only one line instead of three lines for that interval. |
Hover the mouse pointer over a checkpoint to see its properties (timestamp, parameter name(s) and values). Zoom in/out functionality works the same as on the Single Device page.
5. Group Filtering
The Group filter is available on the Alarms, Single Device, and Device Groups pages. Select a group from the drop-down to filter devices accordingly. A search field within the drop-down allows searching for groups by name.
Groups marked as imported were created via the Management Portal and cannot be edited or deleted in QoE Monitoring.
5.1. Add Group
Create a new group with:
-
Name — Group name
-
Filters — Conditions for group membership (add using the + button):
-
Filter by Account Info — Login, Full name, Telephone, Zip code, Location, User tag, User status, User ID, Latitude, Longitude, cust03-20
-
Filter by KPI — Any existing KPI
-
Condition — Equal, Not equal, Greater than, Less than, Is null, Is not null, Like
-
Value — Filter criteria value
-
And / Or — Logical operator between multiple filters
Greater than and Less than conditions are not available for KPIs with Support string value selected, and for Filter by Account Info. Is null, Is not null, and Like conditions are not available for KPIs with Support string value cleared.
-
-
Group alarms — Optional group-level alarm conditions:
-
Select KPI — Any existing KPI
-
Condition — Equal to, Not equal to, Less than, More than, Between
-
Value — Threshold value
-
Triggered by — Number or percentage of devices required to trigger the alarm
-
Units —
%(percentage) or#(exact number)
-
6. Group Templates
Group templates automate group creation based on filter conditions. For full details on creating, editing, and deleting templates, see Group Templates.
Templates with Active status automatically create and update groups based on their filter conditions. Template-related groups are rebuilt periodically according to the Rebuild templates (hours) setting (configured in Settings > General).
The naming convention for auto-created groups is: <Group name prefix>_<Filter parameter>_<Parameter value>.
