Getting Started

This section helps you quickly understand what FT Configs UI is, who it is for, and how to start working safely from your first login.

Who this is for

FT Configs UI is used by operators and engineers who manage configuration data for Friendly Technologies products.

The UI supports three roles with different levels of access:

Roles & permissions

VIEWER

Read-only access. Can browse and export configurations.

EDITOR

VIEWER access + can edit configurations (create/update/delete/import).

ADMIN

EDITOR access + user management (create/edit/disable/delete users).

Your role determines what you can see and change. If an action is not available to you (for example, Import or Edit), contact an administrator to review your role.

Login

To login:

  1. Open FT Configs UI in your browser.

  2. Enter your username and password.

  3. Click Login.

First login flow

On your first login, you may be required to change your password.

This happens when:

  • the system is newly installed and you sign in as the initial administrator, or

  • an administrator has just created your user account.

In this case:

  1. You will be prompted with a First login screen.

  2. Enter a new strong password.

  3. Confirm the password to continue.

The first login always uses a temporary password. This behavior is enforced by the backend and cannot be skipped.

Home page overview

After signing in, you will see the Home page. It acts as the main entry point to all configuration areas.

From here you can:

  • choose which configuration area to work with,

  • switch the interface language,

  • access your user session (logout).

Available applications

FT Configs UI includes five application areas:

Auto Configuration Server settings: CTN Info, FCC Config, Force QoE Stop, FTACSWS Access, Bulk Data, External Trace, and more.

Angular Console

Configuration dictionaries and structured modules (Frames, Custom Parameters, Simplified Views, Replace Services, etc.).

Northbound Config

Northbound API configuration and import/export workflows.

Service API

Service API configuration management.

Provision Portal

Provisioning configuration: params, objects, CSV settings, statuses.

Currently, only the ACS application is available for use. The other four applications are displayed on the Home page but are marked as unavailable. They are planned for future versions of the product.

Client type selection

Some modules require you to select a Client Type before you can continue.

A client type defines:

  • which configuration data is available,

  • which rules and schemas apply,

  • how imports and validation behave.

If prompted:

  1. Select the required client type from the list.

  2. Confirm the selection.

Changing the client type resets the current module context. Always double-check the selected client type before editing or importing data.

Change language

FT Configs UI supports multiple interface languages.

To change the language:

  1. Locate the language switcher in the header.

  2. Select the desired language.

Currently supported:

  • English

  • Russian

The language setting affects:

  • UI labels and messages,

  • error and validation texts.

It does not affect configuration data itself.

Safety basics (recommended reading)

Before making changes, especially imports:

  • Prefer Export before editing or importing data.

  • Always run Dry-run before confirming an import.

  • Review warnings and errors carefully.
