FTACSWS Access

FTACS WS Access manages the users and roles of the ACS web service. The web service uses the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP). Each user has a username, a password, and a role.

Where to find parameter descriptions: The page shows field labels only. The Encrypt password switch has a hint under it. The Fields section below explains each field.

When to use it

Use FTACSWS Access to manage roles and user credentials for the FT-ACS web services. The page has two tabs: Users and Roles. Each tab has its own create, change, delete, import, and export actions.

Before you start

  1. Open ACS Orchestrator on the dashboard.

  2. Select FTACSWS Access.

  3. Create roles first, then create users.

You cannot delete a role if one or more users have this role.

Export a snapshot

Import with dry-run

  1. Open the tab you need.

  2. Select Import.

  3. Upload the file.

  4. Read the dry-run preview.

  5. If the dry-run shows warnings, select Apply despite warnings.

  6. Apply the import.

You cannot apply the import if errors exist or you did not accept the warnings. An import can delete users or roles missing in the file. Always read the deletion impact block.

Import formats:

  • Users: username=passwordHash

  • Roles: username=roleName. This format assigns roles to existing users.

If you import both files, import the users first and the roles second.
