Statuses (Provision Portal)
|
This module is not available in the current version. It will be available in a future version. Use this page for reference only. |
Provision Portal Statuses manages custom status codes and their descriptions for device provisioning workflows.
Where to find parameter descriptions: The Description column holds the text of each status, up to 255 characters. This text is your data, not a field explanation. The fields show labels only.
When to use it
Use Statuses when you need to:
-
define custom status codes for provisioning operations,
-
manage status descriptions,
-
add, change, or delete status entries,
-
export the status definitions before you make changes,
-
import updated statuses with a dry-run preview.
Before you start
-
Sign in to the correct environment.
-
Check your role:
-
VIEWER can browse the statuses and use Export XML.
-
EDITOR and ADMIN can also add, change, delete, and use Import XML.
-
| A VIEWER account works in read-only mode. You cannot add, change, delete, or import statuses. |
Fields
Each status entry has two fields.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
Status code |
The number of the status, for example |
Description |
The text of the status in plain words. |
Find a status
The statuses table has these columns:
-
Status code: the code of the status.
-
Description: the text of the status.
-
Actions: the buttons to view, edit, and delete.
By default, the table sorts the statuses by code in ascending order. The switch Sort by code turns this sorting on and off.
To filter the table:
-
Enter text in the search field.
Expected result: The table shows the statuses with a matching code or description while you type.
View status details
-
Click a status row, or click the view button.
Expected result: The dialog shows the status code, the description, and the audit information (created and updated time and author).
Add a status
You need the role EDITOR or ADMIN.
-
Click Add status.
-
Enter the Status code. Use a unique number.
-
Enter the Description.
-
Click Add status in the dialog.
Expected result:
-
The list shows the new status.
-
The portal does not allow a duplicate status code.
Change a status
You need the role EDITOR or ADMIN.
-
Open the status view dialog, or click the edit button.
-
Change the status code or the description.
-
Click Save changes.
| A changed status code must stay unique. |
Delete a status
You need the role EDITOR or ADMIN.
-
Click the delete button on a status row.
-
Confirm the deletion in the dialog.
| You cannot restore a deleted status. Check the status usage before you delete it. |
Export statuses
-
Click Export XML.
Expected result: The portal downloads an XML file with all status definitions.
Import with dry-run
-
Click Import XML.
-
Upload an XML file.
-
Review the dry-run preview.
-
If the dry-run shows warnings, select Apply despite warnings.
-
Click Apply import.
The dry-run preview shows:
-
Summary counts: to add, to update, to delete, and to skip.
-
Details for each status.
-
Errors and warnings.
Expected result:
-
The dry-run starts automatically after you select the file.
-
A warning needs your explicit confirmation before you can apply.
-
An error blocks the apply action until you fix it.
Refresh the statuses
-
Click Refresh.
Expected result: The page loads the current statuses from the server.
Use Refresh after an import or after changes by other operators.
