Provision Portal Configuration
|
This module is not available in the current version. It will be available in a future version. Use this page for reference only. |
Provision Portal Configuration lets operators review and adjust Configuration.xml sections for the Provision Portal. Use it to review provisioning modes and global behavior, export the XML snapshot, and import changes safely with a dry-run preview.
Where to find parameter descriptions: Each card shows a subtitle. Some switches have a description under the label, for example Domain, Enable multithreading, and Deactivate service. Other switches show labels only.
When to use it
Use Provision Portal Configuration when you need to:
-
review the current Configuration.xml snapshot,
-
change a mode or behavior setting,
-
export Configuration.xml before you make changes,
-
import an updated XML file with a dry-run preview.
Before you start
-
Sign in to the correct environment.
-
Check your role:
-
VIEWER can browse the configuration and use Export XML.
-
EDITOR and ADMIN can also edit sections and use Import XML.
-
| A VIEWER account works in read-only mode. You cannot edit or import. |
Browse the snapshot
-
Open Provision Portal Configuration.
-
Optional: Click Refresh to load the latest snapshot.
-
Review the three areas of the page.
The page has these areas:
-
Configuration snapshot: the time of the last load, the Refresh, Import XML, and Export XML actions, and the export warning.
-
Provisioning modes: the tabs Single and Multiple.
-
Provisioning behavior: session, device lifecycle, error handling, and device info mapping.
Change a section
An EDITOR or ADMIN changes one section at a time. Each section has its own edit button, for example Edit, Edit Single, Edit Multiple, Edit Domain, or Edit DeviceInfo.
-
Click the edit button of the section.
-
Change the fields.
-
Click Save.
Expected result:
-
If the save works, the snapshot refreshes and the dialog closes.
-
If you changed nothing, the dialog shows the message No changes detected.
The device info table shows each label as Internal key and Display label.
You edit the custom fields cust1 to cust10 in a separate dialog.
|
Check validation limits
-
numberOfMultipleThreadsmust be an integer of 0 or more. -
The value
0is allowed. It causes a warning and can reduce performance. -
An empty label value is allowed. It causes a warning in the dry-run and in the logs.
Export Configuration.xml
Export downloads a Configuration.xml snapshot of the current settings.
-
Click Export XML.
-
Read the dialog warning: the export contains real values.
-
Confirm the dialog.
-
Save the downloaded file in a secure place.
Import with dry-run
Import always needs a dry-run preview before you can apply the changes.
-
Click Import XML.
-
Select the Configuration.xml file or drag it into the dialog.
-
Wait for the dry-run analysis.
-
Review the diff table and the change details panel.
-
If the dry-run shows warnings, select Apply despite warnings.
-
Click Apply import.
Expected result:
-
The dry-run starts automatically after you select the file.
-
A warning needs your explicit confirmation before you can apply.
-
An error blocks the apply action until you fix it.
Troubleshooting
- The edit buttons are disabled
-
Your role is not EDITOR or ADMIN. Ask an administrator to change your role.
- You cannot apply the import
-
The dry-run shows warnings or errors. Fix the errors in the XML file, or select Apply despite warnings for warnings.

-
The snapshot is missing. Click Refresh, or import a Configuration.xml file to fill the snapshot.
