Provision Portal Objects

Provision Portal Objects lets operators edit objects.xml with a tree navigator and a details panel for object and sub-object metadata.

Where to find parameter descriptions: The tree and the details panel show field labels only.

When to use it

Use Provision Portal Objects when you need to:

  • change object or sub-object metadata (id, friendly name, name, instance),

  • import an objects.xml file with a dry-run preview,

  • export objects.xml as a backup or for editing outside the portal.

Before you start

Check your role:

  • VIEWER can browse and export.

  • EDITOR and ADMIN can also edit, import, and save.

A VIEWER account works in read-only mode. The save and import actions are disabled.

Change an object

  1. Open Provision Portal → objects.xml.

  2. Select an object or a sub-object in the tree.

  3. Click Edit in the details panel.

  4. Change the fields.

  5. Click Save changes.

Import objects.xml

A dry-run is required before the import.

  1. Click Import.

  2. Upload the objects.xml file.

  3. Wait for the dry-run analysis.

  4. Review the diff list and the details panel.

  5. If the dry-run shows warnings, select Apply despite warnings.

  6. Click Apply import.

Export objects.xml

  1. Click Export.

Expected result: The portal downloads the current snapshot.

Safety notes

  • Save changes replaces the entire snapshot.

  • Always review the dry-run diff before you apply an import.
