Getting Started

This page helps you learn what FT Configs UI is and how to start safely from your first sign-in.

When to use it

Use this page when you start to work with FT Configs UI. FT Configs UI is for operators and engineers who manage configuration data for Friendly Technologies products.

Before you start

The UI has three roles with different access levels:

Roles & permissions

VIEWER

Read-only access. You can browse and export configurations.

EDITOR

All VIEWER access. You can also create, change, delete, and import configurations.

ADMIN

All EDITOR access. You can also manage users: create, change, disable, and delete.

Your role decides what you can see and change. If an action is not available, for example Import or Edit, ask an administrator to review your role.

  1. Open FT Configs UI in your browser.

  2. Enter your username and password.

  3. Click Login.

Expected result: the Home page opens.

First sign-in

On your first sign-in, the UI can ask you to change your password. This happens in two cases:

  • The system is new and you sign in as the initial administrator.

  • An administrator has just created your user account.

In this case, the first sign-in uses a temporary password. You cannot skip the password change.

  1. Sign in with the temporary password. The Set your password dialog opens.

  2. Enter a new strong password.

  3. Enter the same password again in Confirm password.

  4. Click Save password.

See Password Management for the password rules.

Learn the Home page

After you sign in, the Home page opens. It is the main entry point to all configuration areas.

On the Home page you can:

  • choose the configuration area,

  • change the interface language,

  • sign out.

Available applications

FT Configs UI has five application areas:

Provision Portal

Provisioning configuration: parameters, objects, CSV settings, and statuses.

Planned for future versions

Only the ACS application is available now. The Home page shows the other four applications and marks them as unavailable.

Select a client type

Some modules need a client type before you continue. A client type decides:

  • the available configuration data,

  • the rules and schemas to apply,

  • the way import and validation work.

If the module asks for a client type:

  1. Select the client type from the list.

  2. Confirm the selection.

A change of the client type resets the current module context. Check the client type before you edit or import data.

Change the language

FT Configs UI supports English and Russian.

  1. Find the language switcher in the header.

  2. Select the language.

The language changes the UI labels and messages. It also changes the error and validation texts. It does not change the configuration data.

Safety basics

Before you change data, especially before an import:

  • Export a snapshot first.

  • Run a dry-run before you confirm an import.

  • Read the warnings and errors.
